OECD Daejeon Ministerial Meeting

The OECD Committee for Scientific and Technological Policy is holding a Ministerial-level meeting in Daejeon, Republic of Korea on the theme “Creating our Common Future through Science, Technology and Innovation” on October 2015. OECD Ministerial Meeting Daejeon 2015 – World Science & Technology Forum aims to overcome challenging global issues and help guide the international community toward sustainable economic growth by establishing the direction of science, technology and innovation policies for the next decade. The event will bring together both developed and emerging nations to create a partnership for achieving global cooperation in science and technology, aiming for sustainable and inclusive growth. Programmed activities under this meeting include (program available here):


  • OECD Ministerial Meeting Daejeon 2015: a high-level discussion on both, immediate key policy issues as well as future issues on S&T. The Ministerial meeting will also address scientific advice and the roles and responsibilities of scientists and policymakers in the formulation and implementation of evidence-based policy.

  • World Science & Technology Forum: Leading up to the OECD Science and Technology Ministerial Meeting, Korea will also host the World Science and Technology Forum. The Forum is a valuable venue for leading academic experts and global CEOs to provide their insight and acumen regarding growth through STI.

  • Committee for Scientific and Technological Policy (CSTP) Meeting: This meeting will be held among the member of CSTP (Closed Meeting).

Date: 22 October, 2015


  • National Science Development Conference: Experts in science and engineering will debate and discuss salient topics raised during the Forum and Ministerial Meeting.
