STIPA Inaugural Meeting

The inaugural meeting of the Science, Technology and Innovation Policy Research Network of the Americas (STIPA) took place in the Atlanta Conference on Science and Innovation Policy. This Conference was held in the Georgia Institute of Technology on September 26-28th, 2013, in which researchers from all around the world participated in different discussion sessions regarding structure, performance and results of the science and innovation activities.

The purpose of this inaugural meeting was to introduce STIPA to the research community and to encourage discussion about the goals, activities and implementation schemes that this network could pursue in order to be attractive and useful for individual researchers and institutions. Participants of this meeting were mainly from the Americas and expressed that the most interesting activities that this network could provide are related to the promotion of collaborative research, cooperation in education, and international mobility of graduate students and researchers.
